The BBC news reported this week that Christopher Tolkien, age 93, has stated JRR Tolkien's latest release, The Fall of Gondolin, is scheduled for August 2018. Christopher has continued his father's legacy by editing and compiling his father's works for publication. The only two books that were ever published during JRR Tolkien's lifetime were The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. JRR Tolkien died in 1973. Since his death, his son has been editing and releasing his other manuscripts.
The Fall of Gondolin is the second book to have been released by Christopher Tolkien within the last few years. It is the story of the elven city, Gondolin. The tale reveals the devastation of the city from Morgoth's army. This Middle Earth story was the first story in Tolkien's entire Middle Earth series and provides the backstory of events before The Lord of the Rings. The Fall of Gondolin is believed to have been written by Tolkien in 1917 while recovering from World War 1. Tolkien fans consider the new release the "Holy Grail" of three stories. The other two books were released about two years ago include The Children of Hurin and Beren and Luthien. If you are a Tolkien fan, mark your calendars for August 2018's new release.

I am also a writer but I haven't really had any book published. I wonder if anyone would even think about compiling everything I wrote. That would really mean a lot. Unfortunately it seems no one is really interested in me or anything I wrote. I have always felt I write nicely but no one ever said that to me before. Maybe there is one or two. The first one would be a grade school teacher who told me I am a good writer and maybe this is why I pursued writing. The second one would appear thirty years after. So no one really takes time to read any of my work.
