"for the LORD seeth not as man seeth;
for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
Sharon Aubrey's bookJesus Unveiled was released last week on Amazon. She had some incredible positive comments about the material. She writes, "one of the most humorous and simultaneously heartbreaking comments I received was from a local elder in a nearby church. This man absolutely loved the depth of wisdom and insight shared in Jesus Unveiled, but was highly suspicious. He said, 'his faith grew immensely, so a man must have helped write it.'" To him it didn't matter the book took her over two and a half years to research, with daily in-depth bible study and prayer and another year to write. This particular man grew up in a church theology which taught the lie that women are less than men and have no biblical authority to teach. Thus he believed a solidly based bible teaching book must be secretly written by a man.
As a result of bad teaching, many sadly don't understood Galatians 3:28, which states that there is neither male nor female in Christ Jesus. We are all treated equally by God because of Christ. The only difference we have in Christ is with regard to rewards we receive from God based on our faith. Those who seek: find. Those who ask: receive. God's awesome character of not judging people by their physical bodies, but judging based on the inner heart is one of the most endearing characteristics of Jesus. Jesus isn't restricting us based on our social status (slave or free; poor or rich), on our nationality or race (Jew or gentile), or even on our physical body (male or female). Instead, God looks beyond the flesh, just as He did when He chose David to be King.
